Summer Recipes

All of the ingredients you need to make a delicious batch of Summer Ratatouille are in the market now. We'll have print copies of this recipe for Summer Ratatouille with Grilled Sausage at the market info booth.

Black Currants are still in season and we still have some recipes for the Black Currant Jam that Julia Sforza of Half Pint Preserves made in the market last Sunday. It is beyond wonderful and you really should try making it. It's so easy.

Peaches are abundant in the market right now and we can't think of anything we'd rather make with them than Peach Johnnycake

The star player is the Corn Flour from Wild Hive Farm. It's so light and delicate and it really makes this cake the delight that it is. A print copy of this recipe is also available at the market info booth.

Stop by the market info booth for these recipes and more.

Blueberries are in season!

We're celebrating Summer Berries with a Jam Making Demonstration and Tasting with Jammer Julia Sforza of Half-Pint Preserves. There is nothing like opening a jar of jewel-toned local berry jam in the dead of February. Make sure you capture the local season this summer! Starts at 11am

and more jamming with music by David Baggett & Kyle Esposito

10am - David Baggett - Singing traditional, modern folk, blues or original compositions and playing guitar, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki or ukulele.

How about a picnic?

What's your idea of a perfect Sunday? Ours is strolling through the market, chatting with friends and picking up ingredients for an afternoon picnic.

Start off with some great, local cheese
Berkshire Blue and Hudson Red from Julia & Isabella

Amazing Real Live Food Company's Stella Vallis Tomme is a great choice.
Add some Summer Sausage, like this venison version from Highland Farm
Or some smoked turkey from Quattro's.
They also have smoked pheasant sausage that you can slice and eat.
You gotta have a nice loaf of bread. Grab something from
Our Daily Bread or Tivoli Bread & Baking
A jar of olives from Dancing Ewe Farm would be a nice addition to a picnic basket.
Add something sweet, like these raspberries that just came into season.
How about a quart of refreshing currant juice from Ray Tousey.
Or a growler of beer from Old Chatham Brewing .
These fruit tartlets from Farm Country Soup would make a great ending.
Pack it all in one of our insulated tote bags and you are good to go!
